Lectures in the second lesson

The coordinator of the project Nikolina Tonković Čorak and phD Mili Razović held lessons in our school  in February 2020.

PhD Mili Razović held a lecture about collecting and analyzing data for practical research and we learned a variety of techniques that we will use to make our work as professional as possible. We will conduct surveys and a lot of research to discover  people`s opinions about the Forest Jasikovac and the project itself.

A week later Nikolina Tonković Čorak, the coordinator of the project, held another lecture. This project is one of the many projects that are the result of cohesion policy which aims to strengthen economic and social cohesion by reducing inequalities in development levels between regions. Most of the funds are directed to smaller European countries( such as Croatia) to help them to catch up and to reduce economic, social and territorial inequalities that still exist in the EU.

The project duration was first estimated at 18 months but with two contract extensions, the project was prolonged to 38 months ( March 1st, 2017 - April 1st 2020). The reasons for the prolongation were: bad weather conditions, the duration of the project application review by the SAFU and the implementation of the public procurement and simple procurement process. For the project application they had to make the procurement plan and project implementation plan, determine the highlight indicators, project objectives, project elements and horizontal priorities.

The priorities were :
1) to include marginalized groups ( children, elder people)

2) environmental protection.

3) sustainable development  (to equip the forest with “Green Public Procurement” which uses renewable sources of energy.

4) measures to adapt to climate changes (  LED lights, autonomous solar-powered visitor monitoring system, solar-powered smart benches with Wi-Fi point.)

The grant is about 2 million HRK, the remaining 1 million HRK was financed by the city of Gospić. However, the exact  amount will be known at the end of project. The coordinator was interested in our suggestions about possible future projects in the forest Jasikovac, we gladly participated in that discussion and gave our opinion.
